The Zero.One.Two Creative Technology Hub is a vibrant, interdisciplinary space at Northumbria University dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and creativity in the fields of technology, design, and art. We bring together students, staff, and industry professionals to explore cutting-edge solutions and create impactful projects.
We aim to:
- Empower creative minds to harness technology for transformative solutions.
- Build a community of innovators and problem-solvers across diverse disciplines.
- Provide resources and opportunities to prototype, experiment, and refine ideas.
- Inspire the next generation of technology leaders and creative thinkers.
We specialise in a range of creative technologies, including:
- Electronics & Physical Computing: Prototyping with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other tools.
- Open Source Hardware: Promoting community-driven innovation and accessibility.
- TinyML: Integrating machine learning into compact, low-power devices.
- 3D Printing: Revolutionising manufacturing and design workflows.
- 3D Scanning: Digitally capturing physical objects in detail.
- Virtual Reality (VR): Creating immersive environments for entertainment, learning, and more.
- Fusion 360 & 3D Modelling: Empowering creators to design with precision.

We host a variety of creative technology-focused events and workshops throughout the year, including:
- Creative Technology Show & Tell Events: An opportunity to share and discuss innovative projects.
- Skill Inductions:
- Soldering Basics: Learn the foundations of assembling electronic circuits.
- 3D Modelling for Beginners (Fusion 360): A practical introduction to CAD software.
- 3D Scanning: Hands-on exploration of scanning technologies to digitise physical objects.
