Individual vs. team challenges: We can identify any continuous distruption in possession chains as a 'team challenge', that can span in space and time more than the one between two individuals. Beginning of such challenges may be relatively obvious, while criteria for declaring the end can be a bit more subjective. Common sense says that the challenge ends when a team has 'clear' possession of the ball (or just when the opponents stop trying and wait instead), even if they lose the ball immediately afterwards, due to most usually a mistake. It's a game of collecting data as objectively as possible, while reading intentions, which are the vehicle for bridging inevitable subjectivity with the required rigor.
