Internship Project: Development of a Dorsoventral Ballistocardiographic Measurement System

Project Description

This project focuses on the development of a dorsoventral ballistocardiographic measurement system, specifically targeted at detecting ballistocardiographic impedance distortions in capacitive ECG.

Overview

This repository serves as the comprehensive archive of all the deliverables, artifacts, and insights gathered during my tenure as an intern at the Medical Information Technology (MedIT), Helmholtz-Institute for Biomedical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. The focus of my work centered around the design and development of capacitive ECG (cECG) and Ballistocardiography (BCG) systems, particularly exploring the nuances of human body's physiological vibrations and its impact on coupling impedance in cECG.

Table of Contents

  1. Training_report.pdf - This document encapsulates the cumulative learning and my detailed experience during the internship.
  2. ./scripts - This directory hosts all the Matlab scripts crafted for various analysis and computations.
  3. ./photos - A collection of photographs capturing significant moments and highlights of my internship journey.
  4. ./figs - This folder comprises of various visual representations, such as graphs and plots, created using Matlab for better understanding of problems, signals, and more.
  5. ./data - Preserved Matlab data files for future reference and use are stored here.
  6. ./cnc_machine - This section contains the necessary files required for operating the CNC machine which was instrumental in cutting the circuit boards.

Contributors

This project was gracefully guided by Mr. Uguz. I had the opportunity to develop the BCG measurement system, while my colleague, Tuna, worked on the development of the impedance measurement system.

Our collaborative work, including my contributions, have been recognized and included in this research paper authored by Mr. Uguz.
