Words we use (Draft)
During the development of Babykarte we use words like "filters", "subtitles", "main tags" and some more. This page intends to clear the meaning of those words and is therefore a good place to start for newbies or others who want a more in-deep understanding of Babykarte.
We are @Discostu36 and @ValorNaram and we have the mission to create a map which parents find useful. We created Babykarte in the hope you find it useful. If not, we don't force you to use it since Babykarte is totally free and supported on a voluntary basis. @Discostu36 is the founder of it and supports it with his ideas and he's also the person who leads the project. @ValorNaram supports Babykarte with his programming skills. Without the two Babykarte would never exist as it exists and stands now. Both are contributing to the OpenStreetMap-Poject and the page describing each individual features Babykarte has is at the OSM Wiki (german).
Currently the team consists of:
- The word "we", "us" and words with the "our" -prefix are referencing to the team behind Babykarte. See "About the Team behind Babykarte" where the team introduces themselves.
- The word "Babykarte", "Portal", "Webapp", "App" references to the Website running on https://babykarte.github.io
- The word "code", "codebase" references to the code that makes Babykarte possible.
- A "Repository" is a place for storing code and enabling developers to work together on one codebase.
- A "Branch" is a place inside a repository that stores a different version of a codebase.
- An "Issue" is a ticket every logged in user can create to contact us directly. Every ticket is readable from everyone - even for no registered or logged in users - and every registered and logged in user can add comments under a ticket. Some exceptions for this exist when we decide to prevent certain users or even all from commenting on certain issues or even from reading it. We hope the last sentence becomes never true because we ❤️ transparency.
The checkboxes you see on the panel on the left on desktop view only are the filters.
If you click on a marker, a popup will be shown. That's actually and so far we understand a popup. A popup display additional information.
In a popup in grey coloured text above the address and below the field that shows the name of the POI. They are generated by Babykarte. The function getSubtitle
in js/filters.js
decides which subtitle will be associated.
