I have implemented brightmaps on wall textures in DR long ago, but brightmaps on sprites I've never personally liked. I'll consider implementing it still, although it will be disabled by default.
I personally feel like this would fit DOOM Retro perfectly, since DR is all about small cosmetic changes! Lots of blood details already, menacing glowing eyes in the dark on top of it would be a great addition!
Monsters with glowy eyes, objects bright in the dark.
