Welcome to the Refer - Web Clipper's development wiki!

What is a web-clipper?

A typical web-clipper should be a browser extension that picks contents from over the internet and stores them for you.

However, majority of available web-clippers today have been created keeping in mind their fellow App's strength and ecosystem. There are a few stand alone web-clippers focussed on content type(image, text, link, list, checklist, date etc) and content source(youtube video, medium article etc) but they are still being developed.

What are we up to?

We are developing this web-clipper to support following

  • Store clips into multiple backends
  • Clip basic and rich contents from internet
  • Quick-clips from most browsed, content heavy websites

What makes Refer - Web Clipper different?

  • Best web-clipper to support note taking while learning from youtube, lynda
  • Can recognize the web contents as they are like text, images, tables, lists
  • Recognizes and ships clip source, for better organization
  • Personalized understanding for few of the most browsed and content heavy websites e.g. medium.com
