NB: I just realized that this doesn't necessarily make the background fixed, but... at least it scrolls neatly without cutting off into grey at the end? Is that fine? |

This fix (for #1) should work at first blush after having folks test it on my localhost via ngrok, but ideally would need more extensive testing.
