The Smart Crop-Management System
Crop.py is a smart, end-to-end crop management system. It provides actionable recommendations for your crop needs, gives you additional information for crops, and provides a simple, easy-to-use platform for buyers to connect to farmers.
The situation in Indian Agriculture, and particularly farmer distress, is increasingly getting the focus, reaching centre stage in The Media and public discourse; at long last, Agriculture is showing signs of getting the attention it richly deserves; for too long we Urban Indians have ignored Indian Agriculture. Our team aims to tackle this issue by using machine learning to eradicate old-school myths and act as reliable source for farmers to get information regarding a wide variety of crops catered to their environment.
- Low penetration of high-yield Hybrid varieties, proper varieties attuned to Indian Climate; varieties for rainfed . irrigated, saline, alkaline, loamy soil etc etc; their awareness among farmers and their availability.
- Re-planting of Seeds, right seeds for right areas

Unscientific Agricultural Techniques
Note: this has absolutely no relation with technology, which is immaterial insofaras this problem is concerned; mechanization has little direct relation with productivity, which is a straight function of inputs - Soil, Water, Nutrients, Agronomical Techniques, Air and Sunlight.
This spans crop rotation as well as other agronomical approaches. - Quality of Soil in some tracts of India.
Crop.py gives actionable recommendations based on soil data, time-series weather and temperature data. It uses kernelized support vector regression, (using the Scikit-learn library).
Crop.py analyzes and recommends, based on data acquired from India's foremost Scientific and Agricultural Research Organizations.
Crop.py allows farmers to post their harvests on an open, transparent platform. Prospective buyers can view this information, and purchase stock directly, eliminating the middleman.
Front End: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
Back End: Django, Scikit-Learn (Machine Learning Model)
Crop.py is an end-to-end Crop Management System.

We are a team of 5 students from Dwarkadas J Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai. Taking part in hackathons is one of our keen interests.
The team members are named, Saumya Shah, Anant Joshi, Vatsal Doshi, Sarmishta Velury and Viral Tagdiwala.
Anant is a third year student who specializes in network security. He also has keen interests in android and backend web development.
Saumya is a third year student who holds keen interests in Machine Learning and Deep Learning and also specializes in backend web development in Django.
Sarmishta is a third year student who holds keen interests in Machine Learning and Deep Learning and also specializes in front-end web development.
Vatsal is a third year student who specializes in web development in PHP and Django and was our main backend developer for this hackathon.
Viral is a second year student who has keen interests in web development specializing in front-end web development and PHP.
