The main updates have to do with ar5iv's content being fully regenerated with LaTeXML 0.8.7, which is now ready for native MathML Core (expected in all browsers in 2023).

Other minor updates include:

  • slightly less awkward CSS setup, though more refactoring is likely
  • starting to move towards daily updates (not yet ready), and now serving the latest versions for the vast majority of articles.
  • offer some web fonts to fall back on, especially for math
  • some minor fixes related to Redis robustness (limit cachable value size), and asset access (more depth was needed)

It has been a fruitful just about full year since the public release of ar5iv. A lot remains to be done - especially in the "Article Viewer" project, which hasn't been properly initiated just yet. Our gratitude to the community for the hundreds of reports in 2022 - please keep sending more our way!

ar5iv is now moving closer towards native arXiv integration, and that will be a broader theme to explore in 2023.
