I am a Researcher working on problems intersecting the areas of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine or Deep Learning (ML/DL). As a Lecturer at Surrey Institute for People-centred AI, and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Surrey, I co-teach the NLP module. In the past, I taught NLP at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Lucknow, as a Visiting Faculty.
The focus of my research is cross-lingual and cross-modal NLP problems like Machine Translation (MT), automated evaluation and correction for MT, and multimodal hate/sarcasm/humor identification. Other than that, I work with Cognitive NLP, i.e., gaze/EEG/cognitive activity tracking for NLP problems, and have applied it to various downstream NLP tasks.
Before starting my PhD, I was a Research Engineer at the CFILT Lab, IIT Bombay, India, where my investigations led to publications in various sub-areas within NLP and AI.

- Natural Language Processing
