This is my personal text editor, which I use to build pretty much everything. The editor is tailored to my personal needs, so it's needless to say that most of the features are opinionated.

The editor is primarily meant for use with C and C++. It has built-in support for clang-format, but no LSP or autocomplete tools.

This version of editor renderer is implemented on top of WGPU, there is also OpenGL version.

Build from source

clone the source code (or download the archive).

install the following packages/software if you have to

  • make
  • g++ (C++17)
  • libx11-dev

cd to source dir and run

make

After a successful compilation, you will end up with a build executable in the source dir.

In the source directory, there's a dk_edit.desktop configuration file. If you want to use it, simply edit the path to the binary and drop it into your desktop folder.
