Installing the Prompt Icon Manually

We believe Prompt will become a fundamental tool for DNN Admins going forward. As a result, we have written the project to be included in DNN Core and for the Prompt button to be placed in the "root" of the Persona Bar. At the time of this writing there is no way to create a single installation file that will place an icon in the Persona Bar root, but here's how you can install it manually...

Download the Following Files

• CSS File

• Persona Bar 'main.css'

• SVG Files

• nav_prompt.svg

• nav_prompt_pending.svg

• nav_prompt_selected.svg

Install the Files

1. Copy the main.css file to /DesktopModules/Admin/Dnn.PersonaBar/css/. When prompted to replace the existing file, select Yes.
2. Copy each of the SVG files to /DesktopModules/Admin/Dnn.PersonaBar/images/.
3. You may need to restart the website and/or clear the site's cache before the icon will show up.

Note

If you still are unable to see the icon navigate in your browser to the icon location within your site, which should be something like YOURSITEURL/DesktopModules/admin/Dnn.PersonaBar/images/nav_prompt.svg.

If you see an error (something about a pjax transient attribute) just refresh the page and you should see the icon. You will have to do this for each SVG file.

As this is an alpha release, we acknowledge that this is a bit of a "flaky" method for making the icon show up and we are working to ensure a smooth install process in future releases.
