Troubleshooting
Before contacting us, check out these common problems (and fixes). Please note we are less likely to assist people running this on Windows 7/8
Firstly, don't freak out too much. First check if you can disable Tor from the toggle inside the OnionFruit™ window. If you've killed the app or that has no effect, open task manager and kill tor.exe
and DragonFruit.OnionFruit.Windows.exe
. You can then find the proxy settings (on Windows 10 search for Proxy) and disable the proxy from there.
If the issue still isn't fixed, please open an issue or contact us at inbox@dragonfruit.network
If you need to connect through a proxy, we do not currently offer any method to connect. We may look at changing this in the future.
We currently support standard bridges (not obfsproxy or meek), which can be set in the settings dialog (right click on main window)
If the country selection is only showing Random
, please update to the latest version on the GitHub Releases. There was an issue with the previous Tor information provider and as a result, are now using a different system.
The checks performed are essential to making sure Tor is able to connect and functions properly. These checks include a file verification, to check if tor is installed and a registry test, to make sure the client can alter the proxy settings used once Tor is running, but are not limited to those above. If any of these checks were to fail, the app will refuse to connect to Tor.
Another reason using this at school or work is not a good idea. They can also monitor these workstations with other software, so a VPN may not be the best solution.
If the app has crashed, it is likely we have been sent a report with all the info we need to fix it. If you wish to send us additional information, please email inbox@dragonfruit.network
with the Subject OnionFruit™ Crash Details
and let us know what you did and alongside any screenshots/evidence to speed up the patching process.
If you are running OnionFruit™ on an unsupported platform, these are the only fixes we will give. If you have an error, find it in Event Viewer, search the error online and see if you can fix it before contacting us.
The CLR20r3 Error can be caused by Windows or .NET Framework. Potential fixes include:
- Upgrade to Windows 10
- Reinstall .NET Framework
- Update .NET Framework to 4.7.2 or 4.8
- Changing Display Language to English (en-US or en-GB)
