<notes><![CDATA[This is the deck I took to our 14 people Startup GNK in Milan, I decided to take this one because I didn't like [Drago](/en/card/33051) nonsense (even if strong) but I had low expectations, it went undefeated.
The basic idea is to play totally remoteless, in startup [Boat](/en/card/33025) is a staple so I wanted to give it as few target servers as possibile, this means a pile of ice on R&D, some on HQ (depending on the agenda situation and opponent) and [Nightmare Archive](/en/card/33097) to protect Archives along with [Mavirus](/en/card/33047).
Ideally you want to FA three 3/2 and a 2/1 slowing the runner with the -1 from [Nightmare Archive](/en/card/33097), they are also needed to make the two [Ontological Dependence](/en/card/33096) at least 3/2. Whenever you FA an agenda you take back the [Biotic Labor](/en/card/31048) or an economy card if another copy of Biotic is in hand. This is possible just because at the moment [Clot](/en/card/31005) is unplayable in Startup without [instant](/en/card/26090) [speed](/en/card/26085) tools.
The two [Mr. Hendrik](/en/card/33103) are there just to be installed togheter on a central server in order to give a single Core damage even to the most careful runners and activate [Ontological Dependence](/en/card/33096) as a 3/2. They never fired in the entire day but scared few runners avoiding me to spend money on ice.
[Tollbooth](/en/card/31066), [Bran](/en/card/30039) and [Bloop](/en/card/33098) are enough taxing also for [Boat](/en/card/33025) and [Botulus](/en/card/30004) and make the runner check centrals less often.
The single [Send a Message](/en/card/30069) is a liability in the deck, you will never score that but [Nightmare Archives](/en/card/33097) help even in case of steal.
During the day I faced a [Padma](/en/card/33021), three [Esâ](/en/card/33001) and an [Ayla](/en/card/31025), most of the time the deck did exacly what it should and just in a couple of games I got flooded before finding a Biotic but I managed not to lose anyway.]]></notes>

Top reason to play this deck is [Greasing the Palm](/en/card/34037) - it's the best card in the game and no one will ever change my mind. 3x must include. I wish it was 1 influence so it could go in everything.]]></notes>

<notes><![CDATA[![B-1001 calmly asks a runner to leave.](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/506183939250192394/1145798864335548528/leavethestore.png?width=400&height=400 "Please Leave")
This a Thule list that I brought to the [Netbrummers Startup Tournament](https://alwaysberunning.net/tournaments/3841/netbrummers-startup-2nament-its-the-second-one) and piloted to a 3-0 corp finish. My runner deck was Reina and went 1-1-1, leaving me with a 2nd place finish overall.
Game 1 was against a Deep Dive Sable. Taxing ice early denied them a lot of tempo, and a number of unlucky Identify your Mark rolls on a 3 ice thick R&D was quite unfortunate for my opponent. Classic purple glacier stuff gets the win.
Game 2 was against a spicy Femme Fatale Mercury list. I had played against it at a meetup on the previous week and knew that my out was chucking as much ice as i could on centrals and denying Security Testing credits as much as I could. I scored out a first agenda Salvo Testing, and then my opponent saw two Stegodon's off a last click multiaccess on R&D, leaving them with an unmanageable amount of core damage and letting me score 0/2 Ontologicals.
Game 3 vs Arissana was an absolute slugfest. A draw into spin doctor turn 1 saves one of the worst mulligans I've ever had, but my slow start meant my opponent could set up most of her board before I could get going. A lucky score on a naked install Stegodon set me up for my combo, but I had about 7 turns in a row of not seeing a single agenda to get to the necessary threat 3. I had to put 5 ice on R&D to keep my opponent out, and eventually managed to draw into my agendas for the win in this 55 minute grindfest.
Shoutout to milk_geologist for their [Startup Operating Procedures](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/5bf50df4-ee8a-4fc6-8122-21f1856e8bb9/startup-operating-procedure-startup-) list, the core of which I used with a few minor adjustments. I swapped some Cybersand Harvesters and Nightmare Archives for an extra Magnet, x2 Bran 1.0 and Manegarm Skunkworks.
The spicy combo in the deck is both pretty funny and surprisingly effective.
Step 1: Get two remotes. One is protected by Funhouse and Ablative Barrier, the other has B-1001 inside it. You can ice the B-1001 server if wanted, but it's not necessary.
Step 2: Have scored a Stegodon MK IV. Multiple Stegos are helpful against persistent runners but not strictly necessary. Also, have threat 3 be online.
Step 3: Enjoy your unbreakable remote. If the runner runs your agenda, rez funhouse and then use B-1001 to end the run. Remember not to rez ablative on this first run. The runner will go trash your B-1001, and if they return to your remote, we now rez Ablative to recur our copy of B-1001. We have Stegodon to then derez Ablative, allowing us to pull the whole thing off again.
Hush can shutdown Ablative and Funhouse. In this case, have a magnet on the remote to pull the Hush over, which you can derez with Stegodon to re-use as needed. And of course, we still lose on centrals against strong multiaccess.
Vovo is the best guy, the greatest guy. And Skunkworks is good in glacier. News at 11.
I ended up floating influence for this list. Slots are hard, and nothing jumped out to me as strictly necessary. A future list probably features some number of Simulation Resets are flood insurance and to help dig for our combo pieces.]]></notes>

<notes><![CDATA[
This is the deck I brought to Worlds for the Crown of Servers and Startup Championship. I went 8-2 over both day loosing only to Pinsel playing my own [Runner deck](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/1bc216f4-80e4-4db6-a56a-87c8d494f57d/cats-orca-1rst-8th-cos-2nd-startup-championship-) and Startup- Champion Tradon on [Zahya](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/45e4e2a8-df0c-42b0-9df4-a144d4e922b0/who-needs-a-boat-anyways-1-at-startup-worlds-2023). I convinced lostgeek to play it at CoS as well were he also went 4-1 with the deck getting 3rd place with his team.
Preparing for Startup I made a few observations:
- Boat is legal -> Ice is bad, scoring agendas in a remote is bad
- Drago is legal, but every Runner techs heavily for him, so it is much less impactful
- This generally felt like a Runner favoured Meta to me
- Clot is legal, but no SimulChip or SMC. Despite this there are no good FA Strategies
- There are no defensive Agendas, making Centrals incredibly soft
- People have no idea how to play against Thule
These observations let me to this list. It is a bit cheesy and would probably loose a bunch of its power in an open-decklist-cut against prepared opponents, but it is very good in Swiss against unprepared runners (and is much less of a known entity like Kill-NEH).
The deck essentially presents a very simple Fork for the runner:
Early game you can leave centrals very light (against run-econ crim some ice to keep them from getting value is important) as Thule and Nightmare make running Centrals very unattractive. Build a remote with [Hendriks](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/33103) and [Skunkworks](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/30042) and ice it either with [Pulse](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/33099) to tax clicks further or [some](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/34034) [gear](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/34044) [check](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/31044). Try to score a [Salvo](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/34031) in there asap. Most runners won't even contest (especially if you don't advance because you have two [Seamless](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/30040) in Hand) and when they do they hopefully take 2 core damage in [the process](https://the-process.org/).
After that ice up Centrals and dig for [Elivagar](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/33031) for the 2nd core and then more Elivagar or [Ontos](https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/33096) to close out the game. The ice suite here is not designed to keep the runner out but to be cheap and as annoying as possible.
Huge shoutout to all the folks at NSG who made the whole Worlds Weekend possible.
Also thanks to the NWE folks for being amazing people.]]></notes>
