This was a major release not only on the feature side, but a lot of bugs were found and fixed.

Features:

  • Step: Alternative text - Added ability to manually add layers that the scan didn't pick up
  • Step: Complex gestures - Added to Web side, and updated step to better support WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.5.7 Dragging Movements. Also, removed multi-finger, and modified labeling.
  • Banner tip module you can now expand/collapse, and it remembers the user's preference on future plugin sessions
  • when creating Responsive reflow screens, accounts for Text resizing location when placing the screens (no overlap) and vice versa for Text resizing screen creation
  • added ability to create all responsive pages again (and deletes previously created pages)
  • when responsive pages are created, auto-layout mode is used on frame, and set to vertical

Bug fixes:

  • when design was in a Figma section, the created annotation layer was not in the accurate location
    touch target layer numbering issue
  • Banner tip was displaying wrong text in some areas
  • when design was in a Figma section, the created Text resizing page was not in the accurate location
  • errors occurred when checkbox confirmed on Responsive reflow
  • when adding Landmarks, error with label names filled out but not allowing user to save
  • complex gestures step numbering issue
  • when adding Landmarks, show error message if labels aren't unique

Version 12: Improvements for Landmark and more

We focused on improvements for the Landmark and Focus group steps, along with code updates to get ready for future versions.

Here's a breakdown of what's new:

  • Landmarks are now editable (via type selection dropdown)
  • When placing a Landmark or Focus Group; the new element placed, starts where the last one ends
  • When adding a Section/Region or Form landmark, it always require a label
  • Don't allow text "Landmark" in label
  • Bug fixes

  • Reading order step now places each new arrow where the last arrow ends

Version 10: Responsive reflow with Responsive Designs

Here's what's new:

  • Responsive reflow (with Responsive designs created)
  • Rename landmarks to use the HTML names (e.g. footer) and not aria roles (e.g. contentinfo).
  • Added helper messaging for slow preloading times (to help user self-debug loading issues, especially if a lot of high-res images are used)
  • Fix: when last annotation page is deleted, make sure to no longer show dashboard
