Releases: edbmods/EdBPrepareCarefully
Release 1.0.12 (for game version 1.0.2150+)
This release improves compatibility with some other mods and includes a few minor bug fixes.
As always with new releases:
- I recommend that if you are re-saving presets after making changes with this release, that you save them as new files with a different name instead of overwriting the existing presets. This will guarantee that any bugs in this release will not corrupt your favorite preset.
- Some mods that do close integrations with Prepare Carefully require an update whenever a new version of the mod is released, so you may need to wait for those mods to be updated to get them working with Prepare Carefully again.
- As always, mod compatibility issues will crop up. Please report any problems that you may have.
You must be running at least version 1.0.2150 of the game to use this release of mod.
Don't attempt to install this release if you're not comfortable with manual installs of RimWorld mods. Wait instead for the final version of the mod release to come out, after which your mod will auto-update via Steam Workshop.
To install:
- Download the
EdBPrepareCarefully-1.0.12.zip
file. Ignore the "Source Code" links. You don't need those if you're just trying to install the mod. - Find your RimWorld
Mods
directory. - Extract the contents of the downloaded zip into the
Mods
directory. Make sure that you don't accidentally "double-extract" the contents. You should have aMods/EdBPrepareCarefully
directory, not aMods/EdBPrepareCarefully/EdBPrepareCarefully
directory.
Release 1.0.11 (for game version 1.0.2150+)
This is the second release of the mod for RimWorld 1.0 and includes a fix for problems in the Relationships tab. It also tries another approach to displaying the "Prepare Carefully" button that hopefully will fix issues that some people have with that button not appearing.
As always with new releases:
- I strongly recommend that if you are re-saving presets after making changes with this release, that you save them as new files with a different name instead of overwriting the existing presets.
This may not work with the 1.0.2059 version of the game. You should be running at least version 1.0.2150 of the game to use this release of mod.
Don't attempt to install this release if you're not comfortable with manual installs of RimWorld mods. Wait instead for the final version of the mod release to come out, after which your mod will auto-update via Steam Workshop.

By doing this manual install, you'll need to remember to remove it later when the workshop version is updated for version Beta 19.
Beta 19 Release 1 (for game version 0.19.2009+)
This is the first release of the mod for RimWorld Beta 19. Please note that early versions of a new beta release frequently have a number of bugs. If you'd rather wait for something more stable, give it a couple of releases for those bugs to be ironed out.
As always with new releases:
- I strongly recommend that if you are re-saving presets after making changes with this release, that you save them as new files with a different name instead of overwriting the existing presets. This will guarantee that any bugs in this release will not corrupt your favorite preset.

Test Release 7 for game version 0.19.1987+
This is the latest test release of the mod for the next version of RimWorld. This fixes a bug in the previous release where characters created from faction templates could not be used when creating relationships. It also updates version numbers to match the change in the unstable game version from "1.0.x" back to "0.19.x" (even though I'm going to keep calling the mod version "1.0.x"--confusing, I know!)
As always with new releases:
- I strongly recommend that if you are re-saving presets after making changes with this release, that you save them as new files with a different name instead of overwriting the existing presets. This will guarantee that any bugs in this release will not corrupt your favorite preset.
- I've started testing with some other mods, but you can expect some mod compatibility issues.
This will not work with the Beta 18 version of the game. You must be running at least version 0.19.1987 of the game to use this test release of mod.

By doing this manual install, you'll need to remember to remove it later when the workshop version is updated for version 1.0.
Test Release 5 for game version 1.0.1982
This is the latest test release of the mod for version 1.0 of RimWorld. Earlier test releases were geared toward compatibility with 1.0. This release adds a few new features:
- You can now filter backstories to find the ones that give you the skill bonuses that you want.
- The character list is now divided into colony characters and world characters . The world characters include "left behind" pawns.
- You can choose a faction for your world characters and assign them as faction leaders.
- Note that while world characters may sometimes appear during gameplay, they often do not. The mod does not change any spawning logic to force your world characters to show up.
- Better compatibility with the Alien Races mod.

Version 1.0 Test Release 4
This is the latest test release of the mod for version 1.0 of RimWorld. It provides compatibility with the vanilla version of the game but still has a handful of known issues. A couple of notes:
- I strongly recommend that if you are re-saving presets after making changes with this release, that you save them as new files with a different name instead of overwriting the existing presets. This will guarantee that any bugs in this release will not corrupt your favorite preset.
- There have been a lot of changes in the new RimWorld release that affect saved presets and colonists. Traits have been removed, body part definitions have changed, bionics recipes have been renamed, etc. Your existing presets may not load as remembered.
- There has only been limited testing done with other mods, so you can expect to see some problems when other mods are installed.
