Upload to Cloudinary Shortcut

What it does

This is a Shortcut that allows you to upload images and videos straight from your Mac or iOS device to Cloudinary.

Installation

  1. Download and open the Upload to Cloudinary.shortcut file onto your Mac or iOS device, or just use this iCloud link.
  2. Upon importing, it should ask you for your Cloudinary cloud name, API key, and API secret, which you can find on the “Dashboard” page of your Cloudinary console, under “Account Details”.
  3. The first time you run it, it will ask for permission to read from Photos, write to your Clipboard, and talk to `api.cloudinary.com`. Grant all of this.

Usage

You can feed it images in two ways:

  • Shortcut, then image: if you run the Shortcut from within the Shortcuts app, it will prompt you to select a resource from your Photo Library.
  • Image, then Shortcut: if you have an image selected and run this Shortcut from an iOS Share Sheet or MacOS Quick Action, it’ll take that image as input, instead.

Once the Shortcut runs, it’ll give you an alert reporting either success or failure. The success report also informs you that the URL to the newly uploaded resource has been copied to your clipboard 🎉.
