SpaceVPX is relatively new standard for space electronics. It is based on Open VPX but is more suited for space environment. Main difference is support for SpaceWire protocol. The carrier module is general purpose solution that enables integration of existing conduction-cooled FMC (FPGA Mezzanine Card) boards for space-related applications. It is based on COTS components but they were carefully selected and have radiation data. This module is dedicated for FMC-based SDR module which is under development and will be published on CERN OHL license soon. Module features:
- FPGA Microsemi SmartFusion2
- MMC - MSP430
- FMC compilant with VITA57 LPC. Additional space for RF up/down converter or interconnectivity.
- Dual SpaceWire
- Dual CAN FD
- Latchup protection and current/voltage readout for all rails
- Gigabit transceivers routed to FMC
- On board LPSDRAM
