Analytical Assignments for the Computer System Performance course, during the 8th semester of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens.
There were 3 analytical assignments in total. Each assignment had a set of problems to be solved. The problems involved the use of analytical models, queuing theory, simulation techniques, empirical techniques and performance analysis. The Java Modelling Tools (JMT) tool was used, and more specifically its JMVA and JWAT tools. The assignments covered the following topics.
- Performance Metrics
- Mean Value Analysis - MVA
- Flow Equivalent Server - FES
- Load Dependent Server - LDS
- Performance Prediction
- Scheduling Algorithms - FIFO, LWTF, LRUF
- Regenerative Method
- Workload Characterization
- Workload Analysis
- What-If Analysis
