### mixed 32 and 64 bit environment

Using LD_PRELOAD in a mixed 32/64 bit environment may yield
dynamic linking errors when fork()ing and exec()ing a 32 (or 64)
bit binary from a 64 (or 32) bit parent process. Solaris provides
LD_PRELOAD_32 and LD_PRELOAD_64 for that use case. Linux has the
dynamic string token $LIB.
