One use case for the multi-document reports offered by reportMD is the creation of analysis pipelines, composed of document templates that contain individual steps of the pipeline. To support this it would be very useful if the same document could be re-used with different input parameters, e.g. to preprocess a number of samples or generate documents with QC metrics for each.

This requires the passing of parameters to child documents as well as additional infrastructure to ensure output files from different instances of the same template are separated properly.

To further support the more extensive processing required by such pipelines it would also be desireable to support parallel processing of documents (as far as the dependency structure allows).
