TinyApp Project

TinyApp is a full stack web application built with Node and Express that allows users to shorten long URLs (à la bit.ly). http://localhost:8080/

Dependencies

• Node.js
• Express
• EJS
• bcrypt
• body-parser
• cookie-session

Getting Started

• Install all dependencies (using the npm install command).
• Run the development web server using the node express_server.js or npm start command.
• Perform the followin steps
  • Go to http://localhost:8080/
  • Register a user
  • Click on Create New URL
  • Enter a URL which you want to shorten
  • Hit Submit
  • Edit or Hit Submit again
  • You will see your shorten URL on the home page
  • You can right click on the short URL and save link address and share it on Twitter or anywhere else where there is a limit to character length
