This repository is a place to store my findings while testing switches. The testing rig was designed and built by myself, and I plan on releasing build instructions for it once I work out all of the bugs.
I'm not an expert! This is just a hobby, treat it as such.
It's important to note that the data you find in this repository is for reference only. The testing rig I'm using is calibrated using tools I have on-hand, and will very likely not create the same results as a testing rig someone else has built. For this reason, I do not plan on releasing the raw test data. I am making the results of my testing freely available by way of fancy looking graphs. I'm currently using Splunk to visualize the data, but there are some downsides, like limits to how much formatting can be done to the graph, and what is displayed. If you know of a better tool, please let me know.

This is a list of the switches I have tested, or have on-hand to test. The majority of these switches were sent to me to test by generous volunteers. Note that some switches have been lubricated, and some have not. Unfortunately I'm at the whim of what is sent to me, so I can only record what I've been sent to test. I would prefer to test un-lubricated switches, because the method of lubrication by different users can lead to different results. If you have a switch you'd like to see tested that isn't on the list, please send me a message.
Several directories, broken out by switch manufacturer. In each directory, you'll find subdirectories of switch models. In there, you'll find graphs that I've created that show the actuation force graphed against travel distance. The vertical lines are the actuation points of the switches. Unless otherwise noted, each switch is compressed and released 5 times. The graphs titled "Average" are an average of all tests, showing both compression and release. The graphs titled "Compressing" and "Releasing" show the data from all test runs.
You'll also find a directory called "Comparisons". In this directory are graphs that compare different switches. If there is a comparison that isn't present that you'd like to see, create an issue with the label "Comparison Request".
