• JPdfBookmarks v3.0.0 Maven is mirgrate from jpdfbookmarks-code-r213-branches-pdfbox.tar.gz (https://sourceforge.net/projects/jpdfbookmarks/)

• 3.0.2 is based on 3.0.0-maven (3.0.1)

• fix JPdfBookmarks GUI mode open a pdf have bookmarks include CJK (Chinese , Japanese , Korean ) characters will show like tofu char (□)

1. Build System requirement

• JDK 9.x (JDK 9+)

• Maven 3.6.x+

2. How to build and package ?

2.1. Download Source

• Download Releases/v3.0.2 (jpdfbookmarks-3.0.2)

• Unzip JPdfBookmarks-3.0.2.tar.gz or JPdfBookmarks-3.0.2.zip

2.2. Build and Package

cd JPdfBookmarks-3.0.2
mvn clean package

cd jpdfbookmarks_core/target

your can find:

• Binary Release

  • jpdfbookmarks-3.0.2.tar.gz

  • jpdfbookmarks-3.0.2.zip

• Source Release

  • jpdfbookmarks-src-3.0.2.tar.gz

  • jpdfbookmarks-src-3.0.2.zip

If You want to build native installer (windows msi, Linux deb, rpm), please goto https://github.com/life888888/JPdfBookmarks_INSTALLER_BUILD

Use JPdfBookmarks_INSTALLER_BUILD to package this project to native installer.

5. Why Change to Maven Build Tools?

• Package

  • No more need for Packaging directory

  • No more need for Packaging/jpdfbookmarks_cli.exe in source

  • No more need for Packaging/jpdfbookmarks.exe in source

  • No need to install launch4j anymore

  • No need to install launch4j 7zip

  • Windows and Linux developers use the same configuration files to build and package projects.

• It is no longer necessary to include the following jar files in the jpdfbookmarks_lib/ directory (All files can be downloaded from the maven central repository on the web )

• Developers can use different IDE tools (NetBeans , Eclipse , IntelliJ IDEA) to open or import this Maven project.

• JPdfBookmarks GUI mode open a pdf include jpeg 2000 images will throw RuntimeException: JPeg 2000 Images needs the VM parameter …​

6.3. Improve

• Add jpdfbookmarks_cli.l4j.ini , jpdfbookmarks.l4j.ini

  • User can change lauch4j JVM options by modify jpdfbookmarks_cli.l4j.ini , jpdfbookmarks.l4j.ini

• Change lanuch4j exe prompt user jre download URL

• Add conf/jpdfbookmarks.logging.properties

  • User can see log (jpdfbookmarks.0.log) under home folder

  • User can change jpdfbookmarks.logging.properties setting like it.flavianopetrocchi.jpdfbookmarks.level = SEVERE or change .level= ALL

• Add conf/jpdfbookmarks.cjk.font.properties

  • User can change JPdfBookmarks GUI mode , fonts size (like cjk.fontSize = 16)

• Add locales/it/flavianopetrocchi/jpdfbookmarks/locales/localizedText_xx_YY.properties

  • User can copy localizedText.properties.template and rename to his language and country code.

  • User can do his own locales.

• Add User Guide Document in docs

  • User can open JPdfBookmarks/docs/USERGUIDE_zh_TW.html to Read User Guide.

  • Developer can create docs (Asciidoc format) in JPdfBookmarks-3.0.2/jpdfbookmarks_docs/src/docs/asciidoc
