Pbin

Custom pastebin server for your personal needs. This is a minimal command line pastebin server which helps you store text and retrieve them. There is no visual interface for this application and is quite minimal.

As of now there is no authentication mechanism added

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'pbin'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install pbin

Usage

To start the server run: pb

The logs are stored in two files, access.log for all the request logs and server.log for the application server logs.

Create pastes from the command line using curl -d "p=makandra" -X POST http://localhost:8080/

The paste slug will be returned as response

Query the pastes with slug in the format http://<address>/<slug>

Pastes

The pastes are stored inside a folder called store. The application creates the folder wherever from which the application is started.

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake test to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
