Custom pastebin server for your personal needs. This is a minimal command line pastebin server which helps you store text and retrieve them. There is no visual interface for this application and is quite minimal.
As of now there is no authentication mechanism added
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'pbin'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install pbin
To start the server run: pb
The logs are stored in two files, access.log
for all the request logs and
server.log
for the application server logs.
Create pastes from the command line using
curl -d "p=makandra" -X POST http://localhost:8080/
The paste slug will be returned as response
Query the pastes with slug in the format http://<address>/<slug>
The pastes are stored inside a folder called store
. The application creates
the folder wherever from which the application is started.
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then,
run rake test
to run the tests. You can also run bin/console
for an
interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
.
To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then
run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version,
push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to
rubygems.org.
