Changelog generation, semver, and auto-release are now all working correctly.
Semver generation required a fetch and checking out main to git the correct list of existing tags.
Auto-release uses the changelog for release text.
Changelog requires fetch and checkout working branch before writing the log, but the previous log changes have to be reverted before checkout in case the user hasn't pulled to their local repo since the last commit.
