Introduction to git and GitHub

Hello! 👋 This repository contains the materials for a 2-hour tutorial on Git/GitHub. Most of this tutorial is based on the Version Control with Git tutorial from Software Carpentry.

Before class

For this class, you'll need

1. A Bash shell
2. The version control system Git
3. A text editor you’re comfortable with
4. A GitHub account.
5. A modern browser

Before class, please follow the installation instructions to make sure you have all these requirements.
