You will need at least version 1.15.2 of Blynk's Smartphone app to run SmartBlynkie™© ioT Game V1.0.3

In this version:

  1. Player widget now fully functional i.e. Play game and Stop game rather than the original Play and Restart.
  2. Dummy player names will be added if you don't set a player name as we found the system was crashing when trying to save high scores without a player name.
  3. Keyword "clear" now added to clear high score and scorer via the Terminal widget.
  4. Further work done on Parental Control with Timer and TimeInput widgets, but not fully implemented yet.
  5. The binary file is created for all generic ESP8266's with 4M and SPIFFS set at 3M.
  6. Other minor improvements.

This is version 1.0.2a, as defined by the binary file for the game, and it should include the relevant binary for you to flash to your ESP8266.

The binaries are not retained within GitHub so you are advised to keep all earlier versions in case you need to roll back to a known working version.

Each release also includes your personal copy of the README file so you have a local copy to refer back to when you are setting up your system to play the Game and start Blynking.

Initial release of the SmartBlynkie™© ioT Game

This is version 1.0.2 as defined by the binary file for the game but we are currently using the same version numbers as Blynk. So, unless we change it, the version number for each release will be based on the Android version of the Blynk app that you require on your Smartphone.

The timer for the game is known to run fast under certain circumstances and we are working on a fix for this.
This release also includes a Skeleton sketch for use with Blynk and ESP8266's.

It appears we can add binary files to each release, that may or may not reside on GitHub, so we are also including the latest binary (SmartBlynkieV1.0.3.bin) with this release. We will probably remove the older binaries from GitHub to keep the size of each release, and your download, to a minimum. So you are advised to retain all previous binaries in case you need to roll back to an earlier version. Maybe not a good idea, so we have skipped this for now.
