'gdb python ...' works as expected if you want to set breakpoints inside your C/C++ code.

Asp relies heavily on NumPy. If you see a message you don't recognize, Google it to see if it might be originating there. TBD: There's a flag that makes NumPy raise an exception rather than print a warning if certain errors occur; how to turn that on for debugging?
