This is a "big" project to bring MacOS OSes for these laptops with Opencore Bootloader, for more information, click on "More info of MacOS Version below:
More info of MacOS BigSur:
Status: ✅ Almost finished; if you try with latest macOS 11.x.x versions might work too 💻
To do: Update to OC 0.9.x.
More info of MacOS Monterey:
Status: ✅ Finished, not more recent updates (at least with OC versions) 💻
More info of MacOS Ventura:
Status: ✅ Functional, not more recent updates for now, I'm working in Sonoma for the moment 💻
More info of MacOS Sonoma:
Status: ✅ Functional, not more recent updates for now 💻
To do: Change itlwm for Airportitlwm in future; Touchpad is fully broken since Ventura, I don't know why, SSDT-GPI0 from DSDT only works until Monterey.
My hardware is inherited from Aspire E5-471G model, but with a TravelMate P246-MG Motherboard (from China), anyways, I'll wanna named "E5-471MG" 😂😂😂 This EFI works on the following models too: Aspire E5-571G (with an i5/i7 with 5500 HD Graphics) Aspire E5-572G (with an i5/i7 with 5500 HD Graphics) Aspire E5-573G (with an i5/i7 with 5500 HD Graphics or Iris HD 6100 Graphics) Aspire E5-471G (with i5/i7 with 5500 HD Graphics) Other laptops with the same processor (Intel i5 5200U/i7 5500U or better and using HD 5500/5600).
Firstly we will go the base hardware for those EFIs needs to work:
Hardware | Model |
---|---|
Acer HB40A 9x Series (Broadwell-U) | |
InsydeH20 v1.18/1.21 (by Acer) | |
Core i7 (5th Gen) 5500U 2 Cores/4 Threads@2,4Ghz | |
HD 5500 2GB VRAM @900Mhz (Patched) | |
ALC283 (in-build) | |
GeForce 820M (Not supported on MacOS) | |
Dual Band AC 3160 (From E5-471G) (see supported models on BigSur or Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma) | |
Ethernet | Realtek RTL8168 |
Kingston 16GB(8x2) DDR3L@1600Mhz | |
Kingston A400 SSD 960GB (QLC SM2259XT Controller) |
Now, some minimum hardware recommendations:
Hardware | Model |
---|---|
RAM | Any Samsung, Hynix or Kingston DDR3 8GB(4GBx2). |
Audio Card | Any Realtek Audio Card (some Broadcom cards may not work). |
WLAN Card | Any Intel network card (A few Realtek cards works externally or a recommend Broadcom Apple supported card). |
SATA Drive | Any Solid State Drive (SSD) with 240GB of storage. |
IDE Drive | Add a caddy for SATA Output, then, I recommend any Hard Disk with 500GB/1000GB of storage. |
Some additional drivers and SSDTs are imported from Dell, Samsung, HP, Acer and Lenovo i7 5500U EFI Laptops, some native properties may be broken (like touchpad, keyboard shortcuts or card readers), I don't make responsible if your laptop explode later to try Hackintosh.
