Next.js 14, NextAuth.js v5, MongoDB, Typescript Example

A demo project that uses NextAuth.js v5 for authentication, connects to MongoDB with Mongoose, and supports Google OAuth and email/password login.

Features

  • OAuth: Log in with Google.

  • Credential Login: Log in with email and password.

  • Email Verification: Confirm user's email address.

  • Forgot Password: Reset user's password through an email.

  • Two Factor Verification: Obtain a six-digit login code through an email.

  • Settings Edit: Change user's settings, including name, password, and toggle Two-factor verification.

This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

Environment Setup

Create a .env file in the root directory and add the following variables:

Getting Started

First, run the development server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
# or
bun dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying app/page.tsx. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Inter, a custom Google Font.
