This template should help get you started developing with Vue 3, Typescript and Tailwind CSS in Vite.
It also adds linting with ESLint, auto formatting with Prettier and unit testing with Jest and Vue Testing Library.

To get proper IDE support for the syntax, use Volar instead of Vetur (and disable Vetur).
<script setup>
is a feature that is currently in RFC stage.
It aims for simplifying the setup script for SFCs by exposing all top level bindings to the template.
The example components currently use the regular composition API syntax, but the exact same code in <script setup>
syntax is also available. If you want to use this, simply comment this in and remove the script block with the regular composition API code.
Testing is done using Jest as a test runnder and Vue Testing Library for component testing.
Note: To make jest be able to load
.vue
SFC files from Vue 3, we need to use the pre-release version of vue-jest. Similarly we need to use the pre-release version of Vue Testing library.
Since TypeScript cannot handle type information for .vue
imports, they are shimmed to be a generic Vue component type by default. In most cases this is fine if you don't really care about component prop types outside of templates. However, if you wish to get actual prop types in .vue
imports (for example to get props validation when using manual h(...)
calls), you can use the following:
Run Volar: Switch TS Plugin on/off
from VSCode command palette.
- Install and add
@vuedx/typescript-plugin-vue
to the plugins section intsconfig.json
- Delete
src/shims-vue.d.ts
as it is no longer needed to provide module info to Typescript - Open
src/main.ts
in VSCode - Open the VSCode command palette
- Search and run "Select TypeScript version" -> "Use workspace version"
