This is the starter code for assignments.
We highly reccomned that you use lab computers to do the assignments. Please follow the lab guide for instructions on accessing lab computers from home. For the projects you can also use the Google Cloud, using the educatoin credits generously provided by Google.
If you wish to use your own computer, please install Anaconda Python, Tensorflow and Pytorch on it. On Linux this should be easy, on Windows doable. We will make sure that the starter code runs on Python 2.7 on lab computers. For Python 3 and Windows support, please send us GitHub Pull Requests.
To begin working on the assignments please clone the repository to your computer:
- on Linux execute
git clone https://github.com/janchorowski/nn_assignments.git
- on Windows first install a
git
client, such as TortoiseGIT. Alternatively, you may want the console tools MSysGit. Then clone the repository either using the GUI, or from the Git bash shell usinggit clone https://github.com/janchorowski/nn_assignments.git
.
After downloading the code you need to set some environment variables:
- On Linux fire up a shell and
source set-env.sh
. - On Windows fire up the python shell, then execute
set-env.bat
.
To run the notebook, execute
$ jupyter notebook
You will interact with the notebook through your web browser.
