CSE-150-OS

Nacho Project for Operating System Course For Nacho Project instructions, try this Berkeley site.

Getting Started/Installation

  1. Install Eclipse
  • Go to Eclipse download page to install Eclipse Oxygen and choose Eclipse IDE for Java Developers. This should also install necessary jre/jdk files.
  1. Install Github Desktop or Git Terminal If Neither is Installed Yet (Developers Only)
  • Google either of them to install. Note that Github Desktop supports Windows and MacOS.
  1. Clone the Project
  • Go to the project page.
  • If you are using Github Desktop, click the "Clone or download" button and choose "Open in Desktop".
  • For Git Terminal, go to the destination folder and type
git clone https://github.com/ycchang27/CSE-150-OS.git
  1. Setting Up the Project
  • Watch this video, starting from 0:45.
  • For the Project Name, type Nachos.
  • For the Project Destination use the folder, choose (Your Github Folder)/CSE-150-OS/Nachos.
  • To set up the run configuration, do the following:
    • Go to Run tab and choose Run Configurations...
    • Right click on Java Application and choose new
    • Make sure that the new run configuration's project is Nachos and follow the video instructions. Note that configuration name can be changed for your preference, but remember that there will be multiple configurations to create.
  1. Start Coding and Have "Fun"!!

We are currently working on proj1 portion of the Nacho project.
