About The Project

Jhaturanga is an advanced chess game.
It lets you play more than 10 different chess variants(including the classic mode), it also features some famous chess problems and a multiplayer game mode.
Jhaturanga automatically saves your match when it's over.

Getting Started

To get a local copy up and running follow these simple steps.

Prerequisites

You'll need to have the standard JDK installed on your machine and a version of Java not older than the 8.0

Installation

1. Install the official released version of Jhaturanga from here
2. Once the Jar is installed on your machine, execute java -jar 'nameOfJarFileDownloaded.jar' from the installation directory from a terminal.
3. Jhaturanga should be up and running.

Usage

Playing and using Jhaturanga is fairly simple and intuitive

Roadmap

• Improving the multiplayer mode.
• Adding even more variants.
• Introducing an online points system.
• Restyling the UI
• Improving the UX.
