A list of all Settings/Preferences

FF Ultima applies all of its features by filtering through user preferences (example: ultima.tabs.autohide) found on the about:config page. This allows You, the User, a bit of freedom in how you use the theme. Combining different preferences can achieve interesting results. Below you will find a list of every setting found in the theme, as well as what it will do, how you can use it, and a gif/video preview.

To access theme settings:

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Type about:config in the URL Bar
  3. Accept the warning & continue
  4. Type ultima or user.theme to view the list

Tab Settings

⚙️ Switching Tab Size

  • ultima.tabs.width.small ultima.tabs.width.medium ultima.tabs.width.large ultima.tabs.width.huge
  • Set one to true, the others false. Works with autohiding on or off.

⚙️ Autohide/Show Vertical Tabs

  • ultima.tabs.autohide
  • Press the sidebar button to keep it collapsed (icons only view).

  • Choose only one of the options.
  • Tab groups allows you to group tabs into categories/colors for organization, and collapse them to save screen space.

Sidebar Settings (not VertTabs)

⚙️ Autohide/Show Side Bar

  • ultima.sidebery.autohide ultima.sidebar.autohide
  • Choose only one option
  • Sidebery autohide allows you to autohide only sidebery, while all other sidebars stay in an expanded state
  • When paired with ultima.disable.verttab.bar you can create a sidebery only setup.

⚙️ Navbar Autohiding

  • ultima.navbar.autohide
  • Autohide the navigation bar, this will also autohide the bookmark bar, menu bar, and if using tabs on top layout, the tab bar.
  • The URL bar view stays visible through hover, through pressing ctrl+L, or if the User is currently typing/searching.

Using Custom Wallpapers

  • choosing one of the user.theme.wallpaper options, lets you override your default wallpaper and the wallpapers selected in the New Tab Page settings
  • This can be taken a step further by replacing the wallpapers in the chrome/theme/pic folder - with your own
  • If you want to replace the fullmoon.png, simply rename your own wallpaper to fullmoon.png, then put it in the folder

Useful Settings (You may want!)

  • browser.tabs.groups.enabled to use the new tab grouping feature, categorize, seperate and collapse tabs in groups!
  • toolkit.tabbox.switchByScrolling to switch between tabs via scrollwheel
  • browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabWallpapers.v2.enabled to set more custom New Tab Page wallpapers
  • browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled view an image preview of a hovered tab
  • browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to disable the New Tab Page search bar
