 Google Anthos, what is it:

• API and platform to for multi-cloud, where the clusters can be on Google, AWS, on-premise or else ( EDGE) • Security features • Common, unified config, policy management • Essentially for the k8s clusters • Support on containers , vm, as unified platform • Eco system and tooling

 Google Anthos, bet the future:

In 5 years, are majority of cloud customers still buy VMs and deploy their applications or solutions in them ? they will just deploy their solutions, either app or serverless functions?! • Afewcloudprovidersservetheworlds’cloudcomputeneeds • Data boundary will exist, such as on premise, region boundaries • Service or function based, support vm via the Kubevirt mainly for app in VM. • Not as IaaS focused platform, vm orchestration not the fundamental layer in stack

 Google Anthos for VMs:

“While we have seen many customers make the leap to containerization, some are not quite ready to move completely off of virtual machines (VMs). They want a unified development platform where developers can build, modify, and deploy applications residing in both containers and VMs in a common, shared environment. Today, we are announcing Anthos for Virtual Machines in preview, allowing you to standardize on Kubernetes while continuing to run some workloads that cannot be easily containerized in virtual machines. Anthos for VMs will help platform developers standardize on an operation model, process and tooling; enable incremental modernization efforts; and support traditional workloads like Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) or stateful monolithic workloads. ”

 What this means to Centaurus:

• With Arktos, Mizar, Fornax, the fundamental components are there, just need to be mature • Plug Centaurus into current Futurewei cloud for eco, tooling
