Game Modes
The Randomizer includes multiple game modes which can be selected from the New Game screen.
The totally normal Randomizer experience.
The normal Randomizer, except every level transition is now shuffled to take you to a different level transition compared to normal. For more information, look here.
The randomizer optimized for extremely short bingo games. You will start on a random map, you'll instantly win after completing one bingo line, all bingo goals should be completable within 1 mission, all bingo goals are scaled down so they only need to be done once, and there are 5 free spaces (so all lines only require 4 goals).
Both game modes combined for extra craziness!
Zero Rando and Randomizer Lite trailer
As close to vanilla as possible, with Randomizer quality of life improvements and extra functionality (like Bingo or Crowd Control).
Same as Zero Rando, but with more of our Balance Changes included, such as hacking computers costing energy.
The randomizer, except not as much stuff has been randomized. Mostly retains immersion and objects are where you would expect them to be.
Similar to Randomizer Lite but with many more randomization features enabled by default. Remember you can tweak the settings in the Advanced menu to play with any randomization level you want.
The Randomizer experience, except enemy quantities have been cranked up, damage multipliers are decreased, and maximum health has been increased.
Randomizer, optimized for a slightly more consistent speedrun experience with fewer resets. Also enables the built-in timer with splits view!
Try to survive against waves of enemies in the Cathedral, with items spawning between waves.
There are multiple varietes of Halloween modes, that all have the same additions on the above game modes.
- Halloween Mode (based on Normal Randomizer mode)
- WaltonWare Halloween
- Zombies Horde Mode
- Halloween Entrance Randomization
- WaltonWare Halloween Entrance Rando
- Limited and Fixed saves (you need a Memory Containment Unit to save, and you must save near a computer), see: Save Behaviors (not available in Horde Mode)
- We've seen some confusion with Limited Fixed Saves. When you have a Memory Containment Unit in your inventory (or 2 for the new Extreme version) you only need to have the box highlight on the computer and then you can use the normal Save Game menu or Quicksave button. The only freebie autosave you get is at the very start of the game. Make sure to save before going to Battery Park! Sometimes you might want to backtrack to save. Remember that if you die not all is lost, because you now have a better plan!
- Mr. H is immortal but you can hurt him to make him run away for a bit.
- Zombies will spawn from dead carcasses after about 20 seconds (adjustable using the "Enemies Respawn Seconds" option in the Advanced menu) (hint: destroy the bodies).
- You start with Run Silent instead of Speed aug (optional in Advanced settings).
- You need to loot your Halloween costumes. (clothes looting option in Advanced)
- Light aug level 1 is dim (like in vanilla) and costs more energy. Upgrade to level 2 to make it brighter and remove the energy cost!
- Halloween cosmetics: Jack 'o' Lanterns, and spiderwebs!
Congrats on making it to the wiki!
