A mathematical graph is a simple construction composed of only two items: vertices and edges to connect with vertices. A vertex is most simply represented by a circle or dot, while an edge by a line or arrow connecting such dots. A roadmap is a type of graph, for example. Letting you know how one vertex (or city) is connected to another.
Any given (sub)graph can be given a NAME. This is how new words are made in the human language: a pre-lingual concept/feeling creates the force of need for a word and a name is given it that can hold the graph that contains the word.
