AutoRename utilizes the browser's right click context menu to operate. Depending on the website you browse, some websites may have one option and some many have multiple options. You can check the list of support websites here.
Item | Description |
---|---|

Save image as (AutoRename) with Prefix | This will save the image with a prefix that you specified in settings. |
Add to Download Queue | If you want to download multiple images at once, you can use this option. This will compile them into a ZIP file. Note, not all websites support this option |
View Original Image | This option is exclusive for X (formerly Twitter) and Bluesky. Clicking this will open the image in it's original size |

The extension can work on both the classic and modern Reddit design. However, there are differences in functionality.
Classic/Old Reddit Design
You cannot save the image from the subreddit list view or the thumbnail of the post. Doing this will prompt an error when you try to save it.
"Saving images directly from the subreddit is not supported on old Reddit. Click on the post and save the image again"
As the error message implies, you must click on the post then right click and Save image as (AutoRename)
Modern Reddit Design
You can save the image through the subreddit list view or right clicking the thumbnail ONLY if you are using CARD view. If you are using CLASSIC or COMPACT then you must click on the post itself then save the image.
Only option is available:
Save image as (AutoRename): Clicking this will download and save the image in the highest quality available. Depending on your preferences, the filename will appear in this format by default: [Reddit] - [Subreddit Name] - [Post ID] - [Post Title] - [Date] - [Random String]

- Click on the post and the URL should show have
