Casper shared a presentation, present on meeting folder in this repository, on the newly developed fan models FanModels. This presentation shows how the new higher level model is set up. Attention should be taken when changing with older models because now with variable efficiency it could be that in cases with high dp and low flow, the fan will dissipate a lot heat (increasing outlet temperature). A lot of models of the Buildings were changed from a simple 2 point curve implementation to the new default (we are switching to a linear model to a nonlinear but more realistic model). Filip suggested to create a flowchart to better showcase parameter selection, since it is pretty complex right now. Furthermore, create an example showcasing the difference between the different approaches proposed, since it could be very small and instead changing improperly could lead to a much larger error. Casper said that a diagram will be implemented showing how to choose the parameters for the new model.
Models are now merged: https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/pull/1627
Alessandro gave a presentation on the new models, present on meeting folder in this repository. As a quick summary. This model is meant for urban modelling (1 Capacitance 5 Resistance). This will help with Blender plugin for 3D models
- Easy to parametrize with 15 parameters
- Fast simulation time 1-2 seconds
- Acceptable accuracy by comparing with BESTEST 600-900 Michael suggested to better show the difference between ISO13790 and BESTEST, there is a paper but maybe add to the documentation some of the charts (examples from the python script to generate results for the buildings library).
Make SpeedControlled_Nrpm
obsolete, https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/issues/1704f
Michael suggesting to remove models that remove RPM as in input as they behave like [0 1]. IDEAS does not use those, to be checked with Aachen. Ettore will point to this issue in one of the follow up mails to the working group.
Laura close to pull request, she has some issues with cross checking the results (windows problem in getting reference results, in linux might work): https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/issues/1575
https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/pull/1628.
Different name for the “BlacBoxStarter”? Update on example models (running times)?
https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/issues/1412
Michael work on model initialization? Difference of pressure instead of absolute pressure (in theory is better, in numerical simulation it seems inconclusive it depends on the models, scaling seems to work better) Comparison speed vs accuracy? (speed and if models actually run). Maybe use bounded attribute of real variables.
https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/pull/1623 This is now merged.
Just passed the test, it scales better with borefields with large numers Massimo implemented. So it will be merged. From a user's perspective there are almost no changes, only a couple of advanced parameters were changed.
https://github.com/ibpsa/modelica-ibpsa/pull/1602
It seems more involved than expected, since it requires handle string connectors division 0/0 on OpenModelica, in fluidflow models..
Hot water profiles? (Dre) Michael and Dre email exchange, Peter has a lot of data. However, no bandwidth from Michael’s group to clusterize data and derive typical profile. Michael will want time series data for a specific class of buildings. Dre said that he can look into it in the incoming months. Ettore to reach out to DRE about presentation on PCM, when they want do it.
Ettore to send the doodle poll for incoming monthly meetings (May,June,July) and possible meeting in person in Aachen?
Joint paper from IBPSA Modelica working group? Michael: New paper, could be an update on the library and Modelica working group? Clarifying the use of the library. (People are still citing the ANNEX) Filip: Make a list of major changes and show if there is enough to make a paper. 10 year of joined Modelica development for basic models, allows us to collaborate and hopefully expand. Maximize different expertise.
