Getting Started: Installer
At present, there are two ways to obtain enhancr: through Patreon builds or by building it from the source code. Please note that we do not provide support for those who choose to build enhancr from the source code. Therefore, this Wiki will assume that you already have a version of enhancr that comes with an installer.
To begin, you will need to download the installer from Mafiosnik's Patreon page. The installer should look something like this:
Upon opening the installer, you should be greeted by a window similar to this one:
As stated in the text within the installer, you will need to click the "Install Now" button to proceed. This will take you to a page where you can specify various installation options, such as the location for enhancr to be installed and whether you would like desktop and quick launch shortcuts, as well as a start menu shortcut, to be created.
Please note that, as stated in the text within the installer, enhancr should not be installed into any directories that require elevated permissions.
Once you are satisfied with the options you have selected, you can proceed to the next page by clicking on the "Next" button. This will then proceed to download the necessary files required for enhancr from the enhancr servers, as well as set the necessary registry keys so that enhancr is recognised as a proper program.
Assuming the installation did not fail - you should be greated by this final screen:
Choose whatever options you please then click on the "Finish" button. Congratulations, you have successfully installed enhancr!
If you are unable to access this page, it is likely that the installation has failed. Some potential troubleshooting steps include:
- verifying that you have sufficient storage space on your device
- ensuring that you have not installed enhancr to a folder that requires elevated permissions
If these steps do not resolve the issue, try running the installer again. This in practise has helped resolve most problems.
