Problem description

People nowadays love to watch movie. However, ordinary people may not have enough information about the casts or directors’ style to make an informed choice. Public movie ratings provided by many websites such as IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes are available, but users cannot be sure which one of them best represents their watching style.

We aim to solve this problem by developing an android application where users can view most movie ratings from various movie websites. By providing their own ratings (user input), we will analyse the relationship between user ratings and the existing public ratings to infer users' preference, we are able to recommend movies that are similar to what users have watched, and are above their expected rating.
