Information on Using the IDI

ernestynne edited this page Nov 11, 2017 · 3 revisions

The Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) is a large research database containing microdata about people and households from various agencies and surveys. The SIA uses the IDI to do the bulk of their analysis.

There are some documents by the Virtual Health Information Network (VHIN) that explain how to use the IDI. These guides can be found here. The SIA has a detailed IDI induction document and also a general How to Guide which are available internally. Note that as at Nov 2017, Stats NZ was also in the process of producing an introduction to the IDI type document.

For those who are looking at working with SQL, SAS and R efficiently in the IDI, one of the M&I team members presented a SUNZ talk on this. The slides are available here.
