Translating RedMew

Would you like to play on RedMew servers in your own language? If so, you should help us translate our framework to another language!

We now have a crowd sourcing project at Crowdin.com go help us translate the RedMew framework at: https://crowdin.com/project/redmew

Getting Started

If you don't have a development environment setup, the fastest way to get started is to use windows builtin Notepad application or download NotePad++ for greater formatting controls.

Head to https://github.com/Refactorio/RedMew/tree/develop/locale to view the current existing locales.
Please use the english locale files as basis for your translations, located here.

How to translate

To start translating you'd need to either download the RedMew scenario (Latest version) or copy paste the content of the english locale files found here.

You should only translate the text after a = sign, as marked with yellow on the following screenshot: image

If you stumble upon __1__ or __2__ leave those untranslated, they are used to insert dynamic text into the sentence like numbers. E.g: __1__ sent a toast to __2__ would become SimonFlapse sent a toast to Plague006

How to commit/submit your work

TO DO - Ask in #devtalk at redmew.com/discord, or message discord user SimonFlapse#7147 with the updated locale file.
