This new configuration release updates OpenCore to the latest version (1.0.0), but doesn't have any other major changes. Because of this, it isn't necessary to update from OC 0.9.7, but you should update if you are on OC 0.9.4 or below.

OC 0.9.7

This new configuration release updates OpenCore to the latest version (0.9.7) and has a couple of other minor, quality-of-life changes. It also adds proper support for Sonoma, with the introduction of WiFi patches. Because of the addition of Sonoma WiFi patches, and because of the much newer OpenCore version (and kext versions), it is recommended to update from OC 0.9.4 or below.

Welcome to the biggest release of this OpenCore configuration, ever.

This new configuration release completely revamps every single thing, from the configuration itself, to documentation, and more. This release also adds preliminary macOS Sonoma support, which although is not fully functional yet, is turning out pretty good. Because of these massive changes, it is recommended to update from OC 0.9.2 or below.

There are so many changes to list, that I'm just not going to list them here, so if you are interested, I just recommend going through and looking at the full changelog.

(Sorry that it is taking so long! The legacy branch is quite out of date and adding all of the new kexts and testing with old OS versions is quite time consuming.)

This new configuration release basically just contains updated kexts, with no other major changes. Because there are nearly no changes, it is fine to stay on 0.9.0 or above, but recommended to update from 0.8.9 or below.

OC 0.8.8 Legacy

This configuration release is meant for legacy macOS/OS X (Mountain Lion 10.8.3 to Mojave 10.14.6) versions only. If you want to use this configuration for Catalina or above, download the latest normal version from this link.

If you are using this configuration for a legacy macOS/OS X version, please make sure to follow the directions listed here, and not the ones on the main page. Also, make sure to look at the known issues here, as some issues don't apply to legacy versions, or vice versa.

OC 0.8.7

This new configuration release contains many new additions, including macOS 13 Ventura support, a fix for the minor issue with the headphone jack, and new versions of OpenCore, AppleALC, and WhateverGreen. Due to the major changes made in this release, it is recommended to update if you are on 0.8.5 or below.

• Implement Ventura Support (fa7f3ae)
• Fix headphone distortion/combo jack (e11c23d)
• Remove "en-US:0" as default language option, and instead let the user pick on the first boot (change made in commit f8c8702)
