Organization Overview

Mee Panyar supports rural communities in the operation and maintenance of decentralized solar mini-grids that provide reliable, sustainable energy. This work aims to not only help rural electricians transition from diesel to solar (reducing carbon emissions by 60% and electricity prices by 50%), but to ensure long-term maintenance and proper operation of these new systems through the provision of education and support to rural electricians.

App Overview

This section will give a brief overview of the app's purpose as well as list resources that will provide more context on different features of the app from a non-technical perspective.

This PWA was developed by Blueprint for Mee Panyar to aid their electricians (called Users in the app) in doing their monthly tasks. This is the frontend repository. There is a corresponding backend repo that can be found here.

Users of this app are Mee Panyar electricians that service and maintain one or more geographical sites. Users are assigned sites by Mee Panyar admins via the Airtable base. Multiple users can be assigned to the same site. Users can create new customers (those who use the electricity generated by the solar mini-grids) and log monthly meter readings and payments for existing customers. Users can also view financial reports / summaries for each site that give information on the number of customers who've paid as well as billing information and energy usage for the month. Users may also use the app to log site inventory and incidents.
