3.10. Use the Macros
One-liner: make a selection in the Score, then choose an item in the Macros menu.
Macros are self-contained pieces of functionality and have, each, very specific input requirements and operating principles.
As a general rule, you need to make a "suitable selection" in the Score in order for the menu items in the Macros menu to beccome available. However, different macros require different selection types; if a macro cannot operate on the current selection (you will know this because its menu item will be grayed out), then you will need to consult that macro's specific documentation.
Macros that have a trailing ellipsis in their menu item name (e.g., Transpose...) display their own UI, which usually containins parameters that control their effect (e.g., for the Transpose macro these will mainly be the size and direction of the transposition interval ).
Note: Macros save your input between sessions. For instance, the second time you would open the Transpose macro, your previously chosen transposition size and direction will still be there, which is very convenient if you want to apply the same transposition to various areas of the score.
