Starting from this version the launcher is now capable of self-updating which means you no longer need to manually go to GitHub and download the latest release, or use the bundled update script.
Launcher updates will be automatically downloaded and applied upon booting the launcher, if there's any. You can turn off this functionality from the Settings > Launcher menu, this will require you to press the button within the launcher to initiate the update process, but still won't require you to do any manual downloading.
